چکیده

Methods applied for early diagnosis of osteoarthritis (OA) are limited. Early prevention and treatment can effectively reduce the pain OA patients save costs. The present study aimed to develop a rapid non-destructive detection method by evaluating infrared (IR) spectroscopy combined chemometrics. Our cohort consisted (a) 15 with (b) 10 without clinical signs disease they were used as controls. Attenuated total reflection Fourier-transform (ATR-FTIR) was investigate serum samples (50 µL) collected from these patients. A supervised classification algorithm namely discriminant analysis (DA) evaluate diagnostic accuracy spectral processing chemometrics allowed detecting biomarkers that discriminated two cohorts. About 250 spectra statistically important separating groups. Peaks at 1000 cm−1 in associated mainly C–O stretching vibration changes proteoglycan contents previously reported OA. good overall 74.47% obtained DA model. findings indicated this discriminating model, which incorporated ATR-FTIR spectrum, could provide cost-effective blood test, thus facilitating human

Serum Based Diagnosis of Asthma Using Raman Spectroscopy: An Early Phase Pilot Study

The currently prescribed tests for asthma diagnosis require compulsory patient compliance, and are usually not sensitive to mild asthma. Development of an objective test using minimally invasive samples for diagnosing and monitoring of the response of asthma may help better management of the disease. Raman spectroscopy (RS) has previously shown potential in several biomedical applications, incl...

Novel Application of Near-infrared Spectroscopy and Chemometrics Approach for Detection of Lime Juice Adulteration

The aim of this study is to investigate the novel application of a ‎handheld near infra-red spectrophotometer coupled with classification methodologies as a screening approach in detection of adulterated lime juices. For this purpose, a miniaturized near infra-red spectrophotometer (Tellspec®) in the spectral range of 900–1700 nm was used. Three diffuse reflectance spectra of 31 pure...
